Willow + Huxley x Lulabelle Lifestyle – #Friday Fashion Fix Vol.25

#Friday Fashion Fix Vol.25:

This week we are covering the uber stylish Amoy Street boutique Willow & Huxley. I first discovered this cute
designer boutique not long after I first arrived and got very excited by the mix of colours, patterns and designers
on show here. The owner Susie kindly invited me down for a chat with herself and also Mandi who is in charge
of marketing, to show me some of their new collection.

This boutique is packed full of fun and flirty designs ideal for the tropical climate catering for those chic weekends
away or fancy dinners around town.

Colour is top of the agenda for Willow & Huxley and you are never short of a colourful outfit here. I love some of the
neon prints they currently have in store and how they mix well with some of the unusual patterns to create some unique
and on trend outfits. As a taster they currently stock designers such as Blaque Label whose collections are bright, well
tailored and edgy with a feminine twist.

With so many labels to choose from I asked Susie and Mandi how they picked which brands to take on…

“Our brands are well known to us since we’ve been purchasing them as customers for years;
we understand their style and we have quality assurance.  We also listen to our customer
recommendations whilst also looking for brands that are currently in style and suitable for
the Singapore climate and spring/summer season.”

Their pieces are suitable for resort wear, office wear, cocktail evenings as well as jet set comfortable attire. “We love
the fact that our customers have such interesting and eventful lives, as it means we have the opportunity to bring in
more of a variety of collections.”

As a treat for you lovely lot the stylish Mandi has shared her top fashion tip for looking on trend and how to dress up any outfit…

“When buying, try to think outside of the context of why you’re buying that piece. We encourage
customers to buy special pieces that can be utilised for many different social events. I love to buy
something that can be dressed up or down with suitable accessories. You can then get value for
money from any purchase. I think our store’s ethos is that we want our customers to invest in
pieces that they will love forever.”

Thanks to Susie and Mandi for hosting Lulabelle Lifestyle and sharing their fashion secrets.

You can head on down to Willow & Huxley, 20 Amoy Street Monday – Saturday.

Guide to Telok Ayer St, Singapore

“If you have something for obscure, hard-to-find cult labels, this is the place to go. Willow and Huxley carries  a limited number of pieces from Australian, American and European designers such as Finders Keepers, Twenty8twelve and T. Atelier, so you (probably) won’t be caught dead wearing the same piece as someone else.”

The Edit – Party Wear

Sartorial Ideas for Weekend Mischief

“Calendar filling up with party invites? That can only mean one thing – the festive season is here again! Fear not party people, Willow & Huxley has got us covered with fabulous frocks that’ll suit any type of party worth your RSVP. “

Club Party

If you’re planning to tear it up at Pangea or Avalon, your trusty LBD isn’t gonna cut it. Bright, bold, and eye-catching – that’s what you need. We love the structural details on the Nightlight bodice dress ($200) and the neon floral print of the Winter Birds dress ($240), both by Finders Keepers.

Office Party

It’s hard to feel festive when you’re sipping flat champagne by the office photocopier. Hopefully, the Finders Keepers Eclipse dress with its shimmery-gold fabric ($180) will perk you right up. Or if you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated, the printed Izzie dress from By Malene Birger ($650) will surely impress even the toughest of bosses.

House Party

A quieter affair at home with your closest friends doesn’t mean you have to skimp on style. The double-tiered Hildegard dress from Twenty8Twelve ($400) is comfortable yet stylish while the Paper Aeroplane shorts with peplum detail ($150) is perfect for lounging around or impromptu dance-offs on Nintendo Wii.

Beach Party

The Maurie & Eve midi dress ($250) with its vibrant floral print and sexy split opening has us dreaming about sipping Mai Tais on a beach in Bali. Instead of your usual heels, throw on a pair of bejewelled sandals for easy navigation on the sand and a colourful cardigan for those breezy nights by the shore.

Willow + Huxley x The Honey Combers – Wedding Attire

The Edit – Wedding Attire

You’ve gotten the invitation, happily circled the date on your calendar and started shopping for a gift, when it suddenly
hits you – hang on, what are you supposed to wear? Here are 10 outfits for every type of wedding possible from Willow & Huxley.

For an outdoor or a garden wedding, your best bet is the Addison Silk Floral Dress with a ruffled back ($280), or the floral
mirage silk dress ($390) for a classier vibe. The prints are bold but not too overpowering (gotta let the bride have her day),
while the silk will keep you cool and appropriately dressed.

Pick either the Finders Keepers dress ($240) or pair the By Malene Birger silk patterned trousers (POA) with a solid coloured
top for modern wedding attire, where the dress code is slightly more relaxed.

Throw out that old adage about not wearing white to a wedding! If it’s a beach wedding, keep cool in a Malene Birger cream
dress with stud detail on neck (P0A).

Keep it simple at church weddings with the Fever dress in gold and cream ($200). The gold accent on this dress adds just
the right touch of class to an otherwise simple silhouette.

A black-tie wedding means the couple has pulled out all the stops, so look equally good in a floor-length gown, like the
By Malene Birger full silk gown in navy and white ($1200) or the By Malene Birger fish scaled sparkly dress (POA). If it’s
black-tie optional, throw on the Twenty8Twelve lilac dress ($650), which can be worn strapless or with straps.

For a dignified look, put on the By Malene Birger gold and silk dress (POA) at solemnizations.
